LG works with massage chair manufacturer on chair with curved OLED screen
LG is working with a South Korean company that makes massage chairs on a massage chair with a built-in curved 55″ OLED screen. LG now shows the concept as ‘Media Chair’. The screen can switch between portrait and landscape mode.
This change is done with the push of a button on the right armrest, writes The Verge. The TV has a 1500R curve. The curve is adapted to the seat, allowing the user to have every corner of the screen equally close. The Media Chair has speakers in the chair, but also in the screen of the TV itself.
LG shows the concept for CES 2022, which takes place in the first week of January. Unlike many other companies, the manufacturer has not canceled its physical presence and will probably show the chair at the fair. Whether and when the South Korean partner company will release the chair with TV is unknown.
LG Virtual Ride
LG also presents the Virtual Ride concept, a stationary bicycle with three 55″ OLED screens placed vertically in front of it. As a result, the image is above and in front of the user. The top screen has a curve of 500R, according to the manufacturer the sharpest bend of a big screen so far.
The Virtual Ride is not a concept for which there is a plan to bring it to market, but a way for LG to show what is possible with its OLED screens.
