CD Projekt RED Gives First Look at Patch 1.2 Fixes for Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED has revealed what’s in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.2, which is due out this month. Among other things, driving cars becomes more reliable and the police no longer have to appear behind players out of nowhere.
The fact that the police no longer spawn behind players should “somewhat reduce the problem of NPCs appearing behind players” and “create the impression that the police really need some time to get to the scene”. Furthermore, from version 1.2 a drone will appear that should serve as a scout for the police.
Driving should be improved on several fronts from the new version. There will be a steering sensitivity slider that should provide more precision to the steering without reaching the optimal turning circle. In addition, some code has been cleaned up that made it difficult to adjust at low frame rates. Finally, it is also easier to free a car that is stuck: if you accelerate and the car does not move, there is the option to turn the car left or right and to tilt it forwards and backwards.
Finally, CDPR notes the ability to disable dodge on double-tap movement key. In certain cases, this would lead to undesirable diving behavior, resulting in falls from high places and death.
It is not yet known when the update will be released. CD Projekt RED used the second half of March as its release window and will not comment further in these patch notes. The studio also has about a week and a half to live up to the statement ‘the second half of March’. These patch notes do not further reflect the full extent of the changes. CDPR announces on Twitter that the full patch notes to follow. The update is expected to be released simultaneously on all platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10 and was criticized upon release for bugs and performance issues in the game. All versions of the game suffer from such bugs, but the original PS4 and Xbox One had the most problems. The game has also been pulled from the PS Store and has not yet returned. When that will happen is also unknown.
