Mozilla has released Firefox 95.0.1 with a fix for problems that users have been experiencing for the past five days when visiting various Microsoft pages. Due to an error, the browser was not given a status about the certificate of the pages, so they were blocked.

Firefox users who visited certain Microsoft pages were presented with a Secure Connection Failed error message, with no option to proceed to the page. According to the report, the error was related to the Online Certificate Status Protocol. When visiting the Microsoft pages, the browser was not given a status about the certificate, so the validity could not be checked. The browser therefore marked the pages as unsafe and blocked them.

The bug report submitted to Mozilla states that the issue occurred on a hardware support page in Windows 11, but other users commented that the bug also appeared on msdn.microsoft.com, forms.office.com, and the main page microsoft.com. Mozilla writes in the release notes of Firefox 95.0.1 that the bug has been fixed in this version. There is no further explanation about how the problems arose.
