VR start-up Spatial to focus on NFTs
Start-up Spatial, which until now has made business VR applications, will focus on NFTs. The company announced this during the discussion of a new investment round. Many users are now no longer on VR headsets.
About 80 percent of Spatial’s users come in via web or mobile, the company says. A year ago it was still 20 percent. The share of VR headsets in visitors has thus decreased from 80 percent to 20 percent in the same year. Many of those visitors via web or mobile are creators of NFTs, the company claims.
Spatial will focus on nft expositions and other cultural events within the metaverse. The company wants to link makers of NFTs, such as artists and performers, to their audience and to collectors. According to the company, this happens via web, mobile and VR. For example, in addition to their Metamask wallet, users can also see works of which they own NFTs in a virtual gallery.
The investment that the company will receive is a total of 25 million dollars. That money comes from investment companies. Spatial has not disclosed what value the investors are pouring money into the company.
