Analyst: Sony has distributed PS5 devkits
Sony has distributed devkits for the PS5, according to an analyst, and Sony’s own game studios are busy making games for the next generation of the game console. The Japanese manufacturer has not yet announced the console.
Analyst Daniel Ahmad says he’s heard good things about the devkits, IGN reports based on Ahmad’s posts on the ResetEra forum. There are no details on the specs of the devkits, which are believed to be with major developers testing games for the next generation of PlayStation.
Ahmad goes on to mention that there are still some PS4 games coming this year and that Sony is unlikely to reveal much about the PS5 anytime soon. It seems that the release of the console will take a while. That is in line with what Sony itself says. The director of the PlayStation division said last year that he wanted to wait another three years, which makes it seem that a new console is still a few years away.
