Microsoft has released its office suite Office 365 through the Mac App Store. With a single click, Mac users can download the bundle’s six programs. Office 365 includes some Mac-centric features.

The offering of Office 365 through the Mac App Store means users can install the Mac versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive all at once. The software is also updated via Apple’s software store, according to Microsoft and Apple.

Office 365 for Mac includes support for macOS Dark Mode, Continuity Camera, and OneDrive Files on Demand. There are also specific functions for the touchbar of MacBook Pros and the trackpad of Apple’s laptops.

Microsoft has been making Office version for the Mac for decades. The company introduced Word for the Mac in 1984 and Office for the Mac OS followed in 1989. The Windows version followed later. OneNote was already available in the Mac App Store and Office 365 for the Mac should not be confused with Office 2019 for Mac. Office 365 works on the basis of separate apps that are regularly updated and with payment via subscriptions. Office 2019 for Mac is a one-time payment package that will receive limited feature updates upon release. For example, the dark mode was also added for this package after release.
