Son of director original makes new Ghostbusters movie

listen. Do you smell something? Maybe, because there’s a new Ghostbusters movie coming up. And if you want people to forget the poorly reviewed reboot from two years ago and think about the old movies, who you gonna call? The director’s son at the time, of course.

That is why Jason Reitman, the son of Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, will direct the new film, Entertainment Weekly reports. It will not be a remake, but a new chapter of the story. The story will be set in the present, not the 1980s.

It’s not the first reboot of the witty movies and animated series from the 1980s. There was already a new Ghostbusters two years ago, but that film by Paul Feig received mediocre reviews from movie viewers.

The new movie is slated for release in a year and a half and filming has yet to begin. That will happen in a few months. Jason Reitman is not only directing the film, he is also co-writing the script.
