LG announced at the beginning of CES that it would offer a rollable OLED television commercially. The Signature OLED TV R 65R9 has a 65″ screen that can be partially or completely rolled up into a housing. A price has not yet been announced.

The roll-up television has three different modes according to the manufacturer: Full View, Line View and Zero View. With the first and last option, the screen is fully visible, respectively fully rolled up in the holder with aluminum body. With Line View, the screen has been partially rolled out. This enables functions such as displaying photos via smartphones, displaying a music control interface and displaying a clock. The TV can also display music fully rolled up, via the 100W 4.2-channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos support.

The television has support for voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. In addition, there is support for Apple HomeKit, which allows control via the Home app or Siri. The device also supports Apple’s AirPlay 2, allowing users of iPhones and iPads to play video, music and photos. The processor of the Signature OLED TV R is a second-generation α 9 soc, from LG itself.

It is a 4k TV with, among other things, HDMI 2.1. LG already demonstrated the rollable TV as a concept earlier, but this year the OLED TV will actually appear on the market. It is still unclear what price the manufacturer will ask for the model and in which markets it will be available.
