New buyers can only get upcoming Walking Dead episodes in Epic Store
The final two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will be published by Epic Games and will be available to new purchasers exclusively on the Epic Store. Players who purchased the season through another platform will receive the episodes through that platform.
The current developer of the final season, Skybound Games, has announced its partnership with Epic Games. The upcoming episodes are only available for purchase to new buyers through the Epic Store. PC players who have already paid for the season on another platform, such as Steam, will receive the episodes via that platform. This also applies to console players with a season ticket.
It is not yet known whether Episode 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will also be coming to the Epic Store. These episodes were developed and published by Telltale Games, which had to close its doors last September. Episode 3 of the final season, ‘Broken Toys’, will be released on January 15.
Epic opened its game store at the beginning of this month and wants to compete with Steam with an exclusive offer, among other things.
