Sony will not allow cross-platform transfer of Destiny 2 characters to PC
According to an editor of game site Kotaku, Sony will not allow players to transfer their Destiny 2 characters to another platform. The manufacturer has previously firmly resisted cross-platform features in other games.
Kotaku editor Jason Schreier said on a podcast from the website that he learned that Bungie wanted to make these character transfers possible between at least the Playstation 4 and the PC, but he says Sony is thwarting. He says Sony believes that gamers should associate Destiny 2 with the PS4.
In the past, Sony has been quite intransigent in the discussion about enabling crossplay options. That was often blocked or made possible in a limited form by the Japanese manufacturer, although that was later made possible with Rocket League and Fortnite.
Sometimes Bungie can’t keep the content of the PS4 strictly separate. Destiny 2 sometimes contains content that is completely exclusive to the PlayStation 4 for a while, only to be released on the PC at a later time. This is the case, for example, with a special weapon, the Wavesplitter. This gun will be exclusive to PS4 players until September, although it recently appeared that PC and Xbox One players could also get it, because Bungie forgot to disable this item in the chance of winning with a certain character.
