Rumor: photos show 5g variant OnePlus 7 with curved screen
Photos have surfaced of a device that would be called OnePlus 7 Pro and that would be a 5G phone. It is a smartphone with a curved OLED screen, a technique that OnePlus has not applied to any phone until now.
A Chinese tech site has published photos of the ‘OnePlus 7 Pro’, which only show the front and side of the phone. The screenshot shows a picture of the About page in the Settings menu, which would show that the phone would have a 6.67 “OLED screen, larger than the 6.4” screen of the current OnePlus 6T. Aspect ratio and resolution are unknown.
The type number on the screenshot, GM1915, was previously seen in a Bluetooth SIG inspection. The type number does indeed belong to an unannounced OnePlus smartphone, according to that inspection. The build number also matches exactly.
According to the About page, the phone has a Snapdragon 855-soc, a working memory of 8GB and a storage of 256GB. The cameras have resolutions of 48, 16 and 8 megapixels, but there are no further details about this. Many smartphone makers have started working with 48-megapixel cameras this year, including Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi.
OnePlus has already said that it also wants to release a 5g model in addition to a regular phone this year. It is still unknown when the phone will be released, whether it will also be available in the Benelux and what it will cost. The manufacturer has not yet commented on the rumor.
