Skype enables group conversations with 50 people
Microsoft has given Skype an update that makes it possible to have group conversations with up to fifty people. That was half of that before the update. The functionality is now available to all users after it came out in beta in March.
Skype now supports more people in one call than Apple’s FaceTime, which serves up to 32 people. Microsoft has also tweaked the way people are invited to large group conversations.
Instead of participants being called, they see a notification. If people do not respond, the person who initiates the call can still choose to call individual participants. With group calls of less than 25 participants, it is still possible to call all participants at the same time.
