Telecom journalist Evan Blass has posted renders of the Moto Z4 on his Twitter account. This shows that the device again has connections for Moto Mods, just like the previous three generations. The screen has a teardrop notch.

The renders that Evan Blass shows are presumably official images. At the beginning of this year, renders of the Z4 Play based on CAD files appeared and showed a similar design. At the back of the device is the sixteen-pin connector that was first used on the 2016 Moto Z. This is where users can connect Moto Mods. These are accessories such as a 5g modem, extra battery, gamepad, projector or an external speaker.

There is no fingerprint scanner on the case; it’s probably behind the screen. At the bottom are a USB-C connection and a 3.5mm jack. Details about the hardware are not yet known. Lenovo, the parent company of Motorola, has released different versions of the Moto Z devices in recent years. The regular Moto Z has the fastest hardware and is the thinnest, while the thicker Z Play model has a slower soc and a larger battery.
