Microsoft releases feature to stream Xbox One games to Windows 10

Microsoft has officially released the functionality to stream games from an Xbox One to devices running Windows 10. Previously, the feature was available in preview mode, but now anyone with an Xbox One and a Windows 10 device should be able to use it.

On its Xbox website, Microsoft announces that game streaming will be rolled out immediately for all people who have an Xbox One and a device with Windows 10. It is necessary to have the latest build of the operating system. Those interested should turn on the streaming feature in the console settings and install the Xbox app for Windows 10. It is necessary to connect a wired controller to the tablet or PC with Windows 10. With the release, the feature is just in time for the release of Windows, which is scheduled for July 29.

With the release of game streaming, Microsoft is also releasing an improved version of its Xbox app on Windows 10. This now includes party chat, allowing gamers to have group conversations. Also, the automatic detection of games that can be played via the Xbox app should be improved. Furthermore, the profile options have been expanded and it should be easier to share game clips.

At a January event celebrating the arrival of Windows 10, Microsoft confirmed it would be releasing game streaming for Xbox One. In the past month, the feature was tested and was made available to people who participated in the Insider program, among other things; the testing phase of Windows 10.

Microsoft is rumored to have been testing such game stream features since last year. Compatibility with the Xbox 360 would also be worked on, but nothing has come of it so far.
