Marshall launches Android smartphone with two 3.5mm jacks
Amplifier manufacturer Marshall has presented an Android smartphone. The Marshall London has two 3.5mm jacks for headphones and has stereo speakers on the front of the device.
Marshall, which makes headphones in addition to amplifiers, has aimed the device completely at audio enthusiasts, and promises, among other things, that audio has a low latency thanks to an Android 5.0 firmware on the device with some adjustments from the manufacturer. The Marshall London also has two ACC speakers on the front, two MEMS microphones for audio recording and a Wolfson WM8281 chip for audio processing.
The two connections for headphones are both on the top and both have their own volume control. The second connection allows multiple users to listen to music or videos on the device in stereo. To adjust the volume of the device, the phone has a golden scroll wheel on the side of the housing. There is also an ‘M’ button on top of the device to directly open the music application.
The phone also has the specifications of a midrange phone. The device has a 4.7 “screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, runs on a Snapdragon 400-soc from Qualcomm. The storage memory is not spacious with 16GB, but it does have room for a microSD card. The removable battery has a capacity of 2500 mAh.
Measuring 14x7cm, it is large for a phone with a 4.7″ screen. It is roughly the size of an LG G3 with a 5.5″ screen. Marshall will deliver the London from August 17. The device costs 4995 Swedish kronor in pre-order, currently converted around 538 euros.
