The first test version of iOS 9 for developers includes a hint for an iPad with a screen resolution of 2732×2048 pixels. Current iPads have a screen resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. It is probably the larger iPad, which has been rumored for a long time.

A Japanese developer found the reference to the screen resolution in the code of the iOS 9 beta for developers. If the screen resolution is 2732×2048 pixels and the screen size of 12.9″ is correct, then the number of pixels per inch will be around 263, giving the screen the same sharpness as that of the regular iPad. It is also already possible to run apps. to test at that resolution so developers can be ready for the release of the larger iPad before the device is announced.

It’s not the only clue to the bigger iPad in iOS 9’s code. An Irish developer found Monday a keyboard with an extra row for symbols and larger shift keys by resizing the emulator.

There have been rumors for more than a year about an ‘iPad Pro’ with a larger screen and possibly input via a stylus. The announcement was to be made later this year. Apple has not yet confirmed the existence of the larger iPad.
