Google will introduce a new version of Android at the end of May, during its own I/O event. It is not yet known which functionality Android M or Android 6 will get. Google does give hints about features it is working on, such as Voice Access.

Google temporarily mentioned ‘Android M’ in the program of I/O, which will take place at the end of May. That writes The Verge. The program includes several sessions with new features for the OS. For example, there is a session on Voice Access, which promises developers that their apps will be used hands-free without having to put in much effort. According to Google, it is a service that “gives anyone access to their Android device with just their voice.”

In addition, there is a session about notifications, interruptions and volume control in the successor to Android Lollipop. “Lollipop introduced ways for users to manage unwelcome notification interruptions. Since then, we’ve been working hard to refine these features,” Google wrote.

Android M will be the successor to Android Lollipop or Android 5.x. Android Lollipop was known as Android L before its introduction. It is not known what ‘sweets’ name Google will use for Android M.
