Google: 70 new third-party apps for Now
A total of seventy Android applications have been published for Google’s search and information system Now. The technology giant announced this on Tuesday. The applications are shown in Now as separate windows, so-called cards.
The Now assistant displays information that is partly relevant to the user’s place and time. For example, the weather forecast can be shown, but also concert agendas or departure times of public transport.
According to Google, applications have now also been added for recommending playlists and stations from Spotify, TuneIn and YouTube. The apps of the news app Circa, RSS reader Feedly and recipe app Allrecipes also support the latest function from now on. The American tech giant reports that more apps will follow soon.
Google announced in January that it would now allow developers to display content from their Android applications in Now. More than thirty companies, including Shazam and Ebay, did so immediately. Google Now is also available for iOS and Chrome for the desktop, but for now only developers of third-party apps for Android can take advantage of the functionality.
