Vivaldi adds ‘tab stack tiling’ to technical preview 3
Vivaldi, a ‘new’ browser created by an Opera co-founder, has been given tab stack tiling in a new technical preview. This allows tabs to be sorted in multiple columns. Mouse gestures are now also supported.
The tab stack tiling feature is especially useful when comparing information across sites, according to Vivaldi, especially if the user has a large screen. Tabs can also be sorted more easily. The mouse gestures also make it possible to perform certain actions with the mouse.
According to the developers, Vivaldi’s technical preview 3 also includes an improved Notes tool, which can be used to create notes. There is also a screenshot function. The browser can also update itself automatically on the Windows platform.
The next release of Vivaldi should be a beta release. In it, a number of unspecified features will be added to the browser. The Vivaldi project was started by Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder of Opera and CEO of the company until 2010.
