Apple has released version 10.2 of the software that runs on the Apple Watch and a first update with bug fixes has also been released. Updating the Apple Watch must be done via the app on the iPhone; instructions for this are available this page to find. Version 10 of watchOS is available for the Apple Watch series 4 and higher and requires iOS 17 on the iPhone to update. In the new version we find two new watch faces, Palette and Snoopy, and there is a focus on widgets. For example, there is a smart stack of widgets that contains the most important information. watchOS 10.2 includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes, including:

• Automatically see the current item when you're near HomePod (2nd generation) or HomePod mini playing media from Music or Podcasts (available on Apple Watch Series 6 and later and Apple Watch Ultra)
• In Settings, enable the ability to choose a different watch face by swiping
• In Settings, enable the ability to confirm ending workouts
• Prioritize the volume of the music or trainer's voice in most workouts in Fitness+

• The double-tap gesture can be used in notifications and most apps to perform the primary action, including answering a call, playing and pausing music, and stopping a timer (available on the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2)
• With NameDrop, you can exchange contact information with a new person by simply holding your Apple Watch near that person's iPhone with iOS 17 or Apple Watch (available on Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 7 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra)
• 'My Card' is available as a complication for quick access to NameDrop
• Fixed an issue that caused the climate section in the Home app to be empty
• Fixed an issue that caused a white border to unexpectedly appear after turning off AssistiveTouch
• Fixed an issue where cities might not sync between iPhone and Apple Watch in the Weather app
• Fixed an issue where a scroll bar might unexpectedly appear on the screen
• Fixed an issue that caused the elevation to be displayed incorrectly for some users
