Apple to hold WWDC developer conference back online from June 7
Apple will hold its WWDC developer conference this year from June 7-11, and like last year, it will be an online event. The sessions are free to attend for all developers.
Apple says it is building on the success of the first online conference last year, which saw a record number of participants. WWDC20 was held online due to the coronavirus. This time Apple does not mention that as a reason, but it is likely that this still plays a role.
WWDC21 will give attendees “unique insights” into the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS, Apple writes in the announcement. Apple is expected to announce iOS 15, among other things, during the event. Last year at WWDC, Apple announced the switch from Intel to proprietary Arm processors.
In the run-up to the developer conference, Apple will reveal more details about WWDC21. This is done via the Apple Developer app and website and via email. Students and pupils can also register for the Swift Student Challenge from Tuesday.
