TP-Link announces Archer and Deco routers with Wi-Fi 6E support
TP-Link has announced the Deco X76 Plus, Deco X96 and the Archer AX206. In the three cases, these are three-band routers with support for Wi-Fi 6E. The Decos are mesh routers, the Archer is a high-end router with eight antennas and 10Gbit/s Ethernet.
TP-Link will announce a range of new network devices during CES 2021, including the Deco X76 Plus. This is an AX5400 mesh system with support for 802.11ax with the Wi-Fi 6E extension, where the maximum speed at 2.4GHz is 574Mbit/s, at 5GHz 2.4Gbit/s and 6GHz 2.4Gbit/s. There are four integrated antennas and each unit of the system has a port for gigabit Ethernet. The Deco X76 can also be used as a hub for smart home applications, thanks to the support for ZigBee HA 1.2.
Also new is the TP-Link Deco X96, an AX7800 router. This is also a Wi-Fi 6E mesh system, but the speed at 5GHz is faster than the X76 Plus at 4.8Gbit/s and in addition to the four integrated antennas, there are two antennas dedicated to the interconnection to improve overall coverage . Furthermore, each station not only has a gigabit port, but also an interface for 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet.
The third Wi-Fi 6E router to be introduced by TP-Link is the Archer AX206 and this is an AX11000 device. With its eight antennas, it can handle 4.8Gbit/s on 6GHz, 4.6Gbit/s on 5GHz and 1.15Gbit/s on 2.4GHz. The Archer AX206 has two 10Gbit/s Ethernet ports, a 2.5Gbt/s interface for LAN and WAN applications, and four Gigabit ports. In addition, there are two USB 3.0 ports, one of type C and one of type A.
When TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 6E routers will be available and what they will cost has not yet been announced.
