Denon announces Home Soundbar 550 with HEOS support for 649 euros
Denon has announced the Home Soundbar 550, a soundbar with six drivers and support for Dolby Atmos and HEOS. Thanks to HEOS, the device works together with other Denon speakers for surround sound, for example.
The Home Soundbar 550 has support for DTS:X sound processing and Dolby Atmos, although it is probably virtual Atmos. The Denon soundbar has no upward-facing speakers. The device does have two 19mm tweeters, four 55mm drivers and three passive radiators. Via HEOS, the soundbar can be linked to other Denon Home speakers, where the extra speakers can act as rear channels. The DSW-1H subwoofer can also be linked to the soundbar.
Users can control the soundbar with the HEOS app, the control panel on top of the device, ‘most’ TV remotes or the included remote. This remote control has three adjustable buttons with which, for example, specific Internet radio stations or input sources can be called up. The soundbar can also handle Wi-Fi 5 and has support for Bluetooth. For input there is an HDMI port that supports 4k and eARC, an optical port, an Ethernet port, a 3.5mm port and a USB connection for playing stored music. There is also an HDMI out port.
The Denon Home Soundbar 550 measures 65.9×7.5x12cm and weighs 3.3 kilograms. The speaker is for sale from mid-February for 649 euros.
