MSI Announces Gaming Laptops and Creator Laptop with RTX 30 Cards
MSI has announced eight new gaming laptops that will ship with Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 cards and 10th or 11th generation Intel processors. The GE76 Raider is the top model and gets an i9-10980HK processor and an RTX 3080 GPU.
According to MSI, this GE76 Raider laptop has a 17.3 “tn screen with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels or 1920×1080 pixels. The refresh rate is a maximum of 300Hz. In addition to the i9 processor, the laptop is available with other processors. Consumers can choose from an Nvidia RTX 3080 laptop card with 16GB of memory, an RTX 3070 with 8GB of memory, or an RTX 3060 with 6GB of memory.
The GE76 Raider contains a maximum of 64GB DDR4 memory and two NVMe SSDs. MSI does not say how big these SSDs are. The laptop also has an FHD webcam, an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 card, two USB-C ports and three USB-A ports. One of these USB-C ports can be used to connect an additional display, as well as the Mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports. The laptop measures 397x284x26mm and weighs 2.9kg.
MSI also makes a smaller model, the GE66 Raider, with a 15.6 “panel. This has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels or 1920×1080 pixels. Like the larger variant, this laptop has a 99Wh battery, but is 258x267x23.4mm and 2.38kg smaller and lighter than the 17.3” model.
The GS66 has a more businesslike design than the GE models and, like the GE66 Raider, has a 15.6″ panel with the same resolution options. This laptop has a slightly lesser webcam with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This laptop also has a Thunderbolt 3-C port, a USB-C port and three USB-A ports, although this 99.9Wh laptop has a slightly larger battery and is 2.1kg lighter than the GE66 laptop. 358.3x248x19.8mm in size.
MSI also announces the new GP76 Leopard and GP66 Leopard. Both laptops get a maximum of an i7-10870H processor and an RTX 3070 or RTX 3060 GPU. These models have the same memory and storage specifications as the GS and GE models. The GP76 laptop has a 17.3″ screen, the GP66 has a 15.6″ screen. Both tn panels can have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The laptops have a USB-C port, three USB-A ports, an HDMI port and a 65Wh battery. The GP76 measures 394x284x26mm and weighs 2.9kg, the GP66 measures 358x267x23.4mm and weighs 2.38kg.
The thinnest gaming laptop MSI is showing today is the Stealth 15M, measuring 358.3x248x16.15mm. It weighs 1.7kg and gets an Intel i7-11375H and an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU. The 15.6″ tn panel has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This laptop also has two DDR4 slots with up to 64GB of memory, but only has room for one NVMe SSD. The laptop has a Thunderbolt 4-C port, an HDMI port, a USB-C port and two USB-A ports.Finally, this laptop has a 52Wh battery.
The last two gaming laptops are the GF75 Thin and the GF65 Thin. These get an Intel i7-10750H and an RTX 3060 GPU. The GF75 has a 17.3″ panel and the GF65 has a 15.6″ screen. Both tn panels have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The two laptops do differ in terms of storage and connection options. The GF75 has room for a 2.5″ HDD and an NVMe SSD, a USB-C port and three USB-A ports. The smaller GF65 has room for two NVMe SSDs and both two USB-A ports as two USB-C ports. In addition, the GF75 has a SteelSeries keyboard, where the GF65 has another keyboard. Both laptops have a 51Wh battery. The GF75 measures 397x260x23.1mm and weighs 2.3kg. The GF65 measures 359x254x21, 7mm and weighs 1.86kg.
In addition to these gaming laptops, MSI is also announcing a Creator 15 laptop. It has an i7-10870H and an RTX30 card. Buyers can choose from an RTX 3080 with 16GB of memory, or an RTX 3070 or RTX 3060 card. This laptop has a 15.6″ TN panel, which is a 4K or FHD panel. In the case of the FHD screen, it is touch-sensitive. The Creator 15 has two NVMe SSDs, a Thunderbolt 3 C port, a USB-C port, three USB-A ports and an HDMI port.The laptop has a 99.9Wh battery and is 358.3x248mm in size and 18.3mm to 19.8mm thick, with the thicker variant has the touch-sensitive FHD screen.The laptop weighs 2.1 kg in both cases.
MSI does not give recommended prices for the laptops mentioned, but does say that they are now available for pre-order. When the laptops will be delivered, MSI does not mention.
