Hyundai and Apple would like to jointly produce cars in the US from 2024, ETNews reports. Hyundai previously confirmed that it was in talks with Apple, but later withdrew that statement. Both companies have not yet responded.

Under the agreement, Hyundai would design the car and the electrics, while Apple would provide the software, sensors and functions for autonomous driving, ETNews reports. Apple foreman Tim Cook confirmed a few years ago that Apple is working on software for cars.

Apple and Hyundai would like to produce the cars in the United States from 2024, with a test car expected to be ready by 2022. Other details about the models that should result from the collaboration are still unknown. Apple and Hyundai could possibly seal the collaboration in March with the signing of an agreement.

There have been rumors about an Apple car for years. In recent weeks, new rumors have come out, with Reuters also mentioning the year 2024. Bloomberg, on the other hand, spoke of a release in five to seven years.
