OpenAI has opened the GPT Store. Here users can find GPTs, variants of the ChatGPT-AI chatbot created by OpenAI partners or community members. Ultimately, GPT makers need to be able to make money from GPTs.

The GPT Store is available to users with a Plus or Enterprise subscription, or today announced Team subscription for smaller companies. The store includes categories such as DALL-E chatbots, or writing, research, programming and education. With the GPT Store, OpenAI also wants to draw extra attention to certain GPTs, for example because they do something unique compared to other GPTs.

Before GPTs appear in the store, users must make it clear when saving that they should be visible to everyone, not just users with a link. In addition, they must have their Builder Profile verified. Besides, there are certain guidelines regarding GPTs that are suitable for the Store.

GPTs are versions of the ChatGPT generative AI chatbot that are created by users. OpenAI announced GPTs last November. Users do not need to have any programming knowledge, but can give the GPT certain instructions to ensure that they help users in a certain way. In addition, users can connect GPTs to external services such as Canva and Zapier. GPT creators have no insight into users’ chats.

OpenAI says users have created more than three million GPTs since launch. This quarter, the company plans to launch a program that will allow GPT makers to monetize their GPT, based on how much their GPT is used. This program is coming to US users first. OpenAI says it will share more later, for example, how much users can earn from this.
