Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 SoC for devices that enable mixed reality. The company says that an upcoming Samsung and Google headset, among others, will be powered by the SoC. No release dates have been announced yet.
The Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 is intended for so-called Furthermore, the SoC supports a resolution of up to 4.3k per eye at 90fps and ‘more than 12 external cameras’. There is once again support for the Wi-Fi 6, 6E and 7 standards.
Samsung, Qualcomm and Google announced a collaboration in early 2023 to work on a mixed reality device.
