Dozens of PlayStation Network users’ accounts ‘unexpectedly’ banned

Dozens of PlayStation Network users are reporting that Sony has banned their accounts. Some users are said to have seen a notice in which Sony claims they have violated the platform’s terms of use.

According to the editors of The Verge this concerns several dozen PlayStation users. They have exhausted their banishments X, Reddit and gaming forum ResetEra shared. The users say they do not know why Sony decided to ban their accounts. Some have already contacted the company’s customer service, but in most cases they were unable to explain why the decision had been made. Some of the accounts have reportedly been restored by now. The Verge has also contacted Sony, but the company has not yet officially responded. It is currently unclear how widespread the incident is.
