Samsung hints at the arrival of a smartwatch with a round screen

Samsung will probably soon come with a smartwatch that has a round screen. References to such a device were found in the presentation of a new SDK for the development of smartwatch apps.

The manufacturer announced the arrival of the SDK on Thursday. It concerns a development kit for smartwatch apps for ‘a new generation of Gear’. According to Samsung, it has been decided to release the SDK before the release of the device in question so that developers have the opportunity to develop apps for it. Although no details of the new Gear smartwatch are given, the images released show that it is a model with a round screen.

Interested developers can register on Samsung’s Developer page to access the SDK. It is not known when the accompanying smartwatch with round screen will be announced, but it is likely that it will be announced shortly.

Samsung has already launched a series of smartwatches, but none of those models have a round screen. Competitors such as Motorola, Huawei and LG have already announced or released smartwatches with round screens.
