YouTube star PewDiePie plays lead role in own game

PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist will be the first game to feature the Swedish YouTube star as the protagonist. The first footage of the 2D platformer shows PewDiePie playing in a snowy landscape with pesky seals, barrels, wolves and illuminati.

The game can also be played with other famous YouTubers characters such as CinnamonToastKen, JackSepticEye and Markiplier. The development of the game is done by Outerminds from Quebec. The game should be released this summer for Android and iOS.

It’s still unclear whether Legend of the Brofist will be free-to-play, but special moves can be purchased within the game with in-game money, making the free-to-play model seem likely. By spending 500 in-game coins, the entire screen can be wiped clean of enemies. With 50 coins, the player buys a Time Warp, which slows down the progress of the game. Of course, PewDiePie shows what the game looks like on his own channel.
