MSI presents video card overclocking tool
With its AfterBurner software, MSI has developed a tool that should make overclocking graphics cards easy. Sensors for, among other things, temperature of both ATI and Nvidia cards can also be monitored.
The AfterBurner Tool is based on the well-known tweak software RivaTuner: MSI has licensed the underlying technology and placed its own shell around the software. Besides the possibility to adjust the clock speeds of the core, the memory and the shaders, AfterBurner offers the possibility to set the speed at which the fan runs.
A nice addition is the option to increase the core voltage of the graphics card: this allows higher overclocks, but the card must be supported to be able to use this feature. In addition to adjusting video card settings, the Afterburner software can also map voltages, temperatures, fan speeds, and clock speeds in real time. The software makes it possible to store different overclocking profiles and support for setups with multiple video cards, both sli and Crossfire, is available.
