Huawei announces successor Ascend P7 in mid-April
Huawei will announce the Ascend P8 on April 15 in London, the Chinese manufacturer announced. At the beginning of March, during the major telecom fair MWC in Barcelona, the group will not come with new smartphones, but with tablets and wearables.
Huawei therefore chooses to present its new flagship device later than competitors Samsung and HTC. They will announce the Galaxy S6 and the One M9 in March, respectively. According to previous rumors, the Ascend P8 will have a slightly larger screen than the P7: 5.2 inches versus 5 inches. The resolution would remain 1920×1080 pixels.
In addition, there were unconfirmed reports that the smartphone will feature a Kirin 930 octacore from Huawei itself, in addition to 3GB of storage, 32GB of storage and a fingerprint sensor. The housing would be made of metal on the back.
Huawei will be at MWC in March with two new wearables. This concerns an Android Wear model that has to rely on its appearance and a successor to the TalkBand B1, with support for a new ‘fitness platform’ from Huawei. Huawei has not yet released anything to Pocket-Lint about the tablets that the company will also reveal during the telecom fair.
