Five Nights At Freddy’s VR is the fastest selling Oculus Quest game to date

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is the fastest selling title for the Oculus Quest to date, according to the developer. The figures apply to both the first day and the first week. Exact numbers are not known.

Andrew Dayto, CEO of Steel Wool Studios, says in an interview with UploadVR that Five Nights at Freddy’s VR is “doing really well” on the Oculus Quest. The studio does not disclose sales figures, but the CEO says that there was never a game for the Quest that sold so many copies within the first day and the first week.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted was released for Oculus Quest on July 16. It is a thirty-euro bundle of minigames from the Five Nights horror universe. The game was released on Steam last year for VR headsets connected to the PC and for the PlayStation VR headset.

The studio does not say how the sales figures of the game are for the Oculus Quest compared to the other VR platforms. UploadVR notes that several VR games saw significant growth in sales after a version for the Oculus Quest was released. The site cites Superhot and Red Matter as examples, of which many more copies were sold for the Quest than for the Rift.

The Oculus Quest is a standalone VR headset, with built-in hardware, eliminating the need for an external PC or console. The Quest has been on sale since April last year. According to rumors, Oculus is working on an improved version, of which renders have already appeared. The new model may be announced or released on September 15.
