WhatsApp is working on a poll function for Channels

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow Channel administrators to create a poll for their members. It is not clear when the feature will be rolled out.

The same administrators can also choose to allow only one answer per user, the editors write WABetaInfo. WhatsApp is also said to have taken privacy into account, because the contact details of users who have already completed the poll remain hidden from other Channel members who want to view the results.

WhatsApp introduced Channels in June. This feature is intended for communications from a single source to a large audience. The company gave football clubs, municipal councils and news brands as examples. Channels are housed in the Status tab at the bottom of the app’s user interface.
