Microsoft stops giving details about patched vulnerabilities in Windows
Microsoft will stop publicly disclosing details about leaks and bugs it fixes in Windows on its monthly Patch Tuesday. Instead, the details will now fall under a company’s payment service.
To receive the information, you must be a Premier customer, Microsoft says. The software company says it has taken the step, because many companies would no longer need that information. Until now, Microsoft published a monthly post on Patch Tuesday about which bugs have been fixed and which vulnerabilities have been fixed.
Premier customers don’t get the information automatically, but they have to say they want to receive it. There is also a way for companies to get certain info for free through MyBulletins, where they can see the patches for applications that the company itself has indicated to use. Patch Tuesday is the regular Tuesday in the month when Microsoft releases updates for its Windows operating system. The fixed day for the patches has been around for ten years.
