Gigabyte Shows Brix Mini PCs With Intel Broadwell U Processors
Gigabyte has announced Brix desktops equipped with Intel’s new Broadwell mobile processors. These are models with Core U processors with HD Graphics 5500 GPUs on board.
Gigabyte has updated its Brix line of mini PCs with Broadwell processors. The range consists of two series of three models: three Brix s models with a thickness of 46.8 mm and three Brix variants with a thickness of 33.9 mm. The series will be equipped with a Core i3-5010U, Core i5-5200U and i7-5500U. These are mobile chips with HD Graphics 5500 and TDP of 15W. Brix systems with Broadwell processor with 28W TDP and more powerful Iris Graphics 6100 GPU are not yet included. The models with Core i7 also support NFC.
The Brix systems also have two SO-DIMM slots for up to 16GB DDR3 memory and an MSATA connection for storage. There’s also a PCI-e slot, but it’s taken up by an m2 NGFF 2230 card that supports WiFi-AC and Bluetooth 4.0. At the front of the Brix models are two USB 3.0 ports and the audio connection, at the back are HDMI, mini display port, a duo of USB 3.0 ports and gigabit Ethernet.
The prices of the mentioned models are not yet known.
