Multiplayer from Watch Dogs: Legion gets crossplay and crossgen support
Ubisoft will update the multiplayer mode of Watch Dogs: Legion with crossplay support. Crossgen support will also be part of this. Now only players on one platform can play against each other.
It is not yet known when the update for crossplay will be released. The Watch Dogs: Legion account on Twitter reports that it will arrive later, in response to a user who asks. The game’s multiplayer mode has been available on consoles and Google Stadia in a limited form since last week, but there is no crossplay or crossgen support.
For example, players playing on a PlayStation 5 can only play together with other players on the same console. The addition of crossplay allows Xbox, PlayStation, Stadia and PC players to play together. Crossgen support allows for example PlayStation 4 and PS5 gamers to play together.
Watch: Dogs Legion multiplayer mode is not yet available for PC. It should have been released on March 9, but due to crashes with some video cards, it has been postponed indefinitely. The online mode was originally planned for late last year, but that was then postponed to address issues with the single player portion of the game.
