HTC has presented the successor of the cheapest smartphone in its line-up. The Desire 320 shares many features with its predecessor Desire 310 and runs pretty much stock Android, with only a few HTC added applications.

The Desire 320 is very similar to the Desire 310. The device has the same MediaTek processor with four Cortex A7 processor cores at 1.3GHz and the 320, like the 310, uses a 4.5″ screen with a resolution of 854×480 pixels.

At 13.2×6.8cm, the 320 is slightly smaller than its predecessor. The phone supports 2g, 3g and Wi-Fi over the a/b/g/n standards, but 4g is missing. The camera on the back has a maximum resolution of five megapixels, the one on the front has 0.3 megapixels. The battery has a capacity of 2100mAh, slightly larger than the 2000mAh of the Desire 310.

The Desire 320 runs on Android 4.4 without HTC’s own Sense interface. HTC has put home screen replacement BlinkFeed on the phone and the camera app has been adjusted, but it is largely stock Android. Presumably, HTC has not ported its Sense features to MediaTek processors. All HTC smartphones with Qualcomm processors run Sense.

The 320 comes out right away and has a suggested retail price of 139 euros. That is 30 euros less than the 169 euros that HTC asked for the 310 at release. That price has now dropped to around 135 euros.
