The exact scope of the fight against the cheaters is therefore unknown. However, it is clear that Valve has optimized its mechanisms against certain cheating software. Some shortcuts by which the hackers have evaded the detection mechanisms in the past are said to have been closed as a result. On platforms like Reddit, screenshots of players who have been blocked are posted.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was already discredited in November when it became known that several professional players were using certain hacks. The hacks were difficult to detect, as they had no ostentatious effects on gameplay. Despite this, the cheats would give the players a slight advantage over the other gamers.
