IFixit starts selling original Microsoft Surface parts

IFixit has started selling genuine spare parts for Microsoft Surface devices. The company does this in collaboration with Microsoft. IFixit sells SSDs, batteries, screens and other spare parts.

IFixit sells according to its own words parts for various Surface Pro laptops, Surface Go models, Surface Laptops series notebooks and other models. In total, the company offers parts for fifteen different devices. The parts are sold separately, but can also be supplied including the tools required to carry out the repair. IFixit also offers free manuals and videos with instructions on how to repair the Surface products.

Microsoft itself started selling certain spare parts for some of its Surface devices in June. Company now also confirmed officially partner with iFixit. Depending on the model, iFixit offers, for example, SSDs, batteries, screens, kickstands, front cameras, speakers, motherboards, keyboards and more. With the release of spare parts, users can repair their device themselves, even if it is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

IFixit has had similar collaborations with several other companies for some time. For example, the company sells official OEM parts for the Steam Deck and Valve Index, Google Pixel phones, a number of Samsung smartphones, HP laptops and recently also Logitech mice. Since 2021, iFixit has been providing official repair tools for Surface devices to select service partners.
