Tuxedo equips XP15 and XP17 laptops with Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 GPUs and Linux
Tuxedo is renewing its Tuxedo Book XP15 and XP17. The laptops will be equipped with a GeForce RTX 30 GPU from Nvidia and a tenth generation Intel Comet Lake-H CPU. The laptops will be available from March 31.
The Tuxedo Book XP15 Gen 12 and XP17 Gen 12 can be equipped with a GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q 16GB, with a total graphics power of 90W with an optional boost of 15W. The laptops have an Intel Core i7-10870H processor with eight cores and hyperthreading as standard. The laptops can also come with 8GB to 64GB of DDR4-3200 memory with Samsung CL22 timings. Both laptops can be supplied with up to two M.2 SSDs, but will also be available without SSDs.
The XP15 laptop is available with four different screens. This includes two IPS panels with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, one variant of which supports G-Sync. The laptop can also be supplied with a 1080p display at 300Hz or a 60Hz OLED panel with 4k resolution from Samsung. The 17.3″ model will be available with a 1080p-144Hz display with G-Sync, a 300Hz panel with 1080p resolution, or an IPS display with 4k resolution and 60Hz refresh rate.
The 15″ and 17.3″ models both have a 72Wh battery. The laptops come standard with Tuxedo OS 20.04 LTS or Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. These Linux installations can optionally be encrypted. Users can also order Windows with the laptops, whether or not as a VirtualBox installation.
The Tuxedo Book XP15 Gen 12 will be available from March 31 and will have a suggested retail price of EUR 1599 for a variant with an RTX 3060 video card. A GeForce RTX 3070 variant is available from 1,849 euros. The XP17 variant only comes with an RTX 3070 GPU or higher and has a suggested retail price from 1,859 euros. Models without storage cost 50 euros less. The Wi-Fi 6 card can also be omitted, further reducing the suggested retail price by 19 euros.
