Samsung to release first Tizen smartphone in India in November
Samsung seems to be planning to launch its first Tizen smartphone in November. The release is planned for the Indian market. The Korean manufacturer faced several delays with the release of the first Tizen devices.
The Economic Times reports this based on statements from Samsung. The first device with the Tizen operating system should be on the market after the Hindu holiday Diwali, this year on October 23, according to a Samsung CEO. The Tizen smartphone should be in the store in November, but more specific information is missing. Samsung did want to say that the device will be in the store next to the existing range of Android smartphones. There is no information about a possible European release and the specifications of the device in question.
The first version of Tizen came out more than two years ago. Samsung has announced several times that it will come up with a smartphone that runs on the mobile operating system, but each time the release turned out to have to be postponed. The release of the first Tizen smartphone would therefore be a milestone for the manufacturer.
The Samsung Z was announced in June, but its release was canceled shortly afterwards. The device that Samsung wants to release for the Indian market is probably a different model.
