Download Akelpad 4.0.8

Akelpad was provided with an update to version 4.0.8 on Monday. The download of this small and fast open source text editor is just over 200KB, but despite that, the program has an extensive range of features. It can be used as a replacement for the Notepad supplied with Windows, but can also be used for programming. Through plugins add additional functionality, including syntax highlighting, auto-completion, scripts, and macros. Below are all the changes that have been made to the program since the previous entry in the Meuktracker:

Changed:

• Speed ​​of work with text is greatly increased. Now files equally quickly opens/edits, independent from monospaced font or not, and also independent from character set.
• Improved work with Input Method Editors (IME).
• Speed ​​of files processing with monospaced font is increased (exception is CJKV character sets).
• Backward compatibility with RichEdit has been improved.
• Tabulation width calculated from space width.
• Improved PageUp/PageDown text navigation.
• At font size change, AkelEdit adjusts position of the text according to the first visible line.
• Improved file opening and word wrapping progress indicator.

• Support for multiline URL in word wrap mode.
• Main window repainting at long file opening.
• Option for caret moving out of the line edge.
