Dashlane will adjust the terms of the Free subscription starting November 7, including a limitation of a maximum of 25 passwords per account. Until now, users could store an unlimited number of login details. Access to email and chat support will also be lost.

The password manager lets in a blog post Please note that Free users will not lose any saved credentials after the restrictions take effect. An existing account with more than 25 saved passwords will therefore retain all data, but will no longer be able to save new passwords from November 7. Roughly a year ago, Dashlane introduced unlimited password storage for one device for the plan in question.

Furthermore, Free users will no longer have access to email and chat support starting December 7; this service is only for paying customers. The company says that the customers in question will continue to have access to the public Help Center. These users will no longer be able to ask specific questions after the stated date.

Dashlane does not provide a reason for the upcoming Free plan restrictions. All the company says about this is: “As part of our goal to provide better services and by shifting our resources to higher-tier services, we are reviewing the free service.” The cheapest paid subscription at Dashlane costs 3.65 euros per month at the time of writing for an annual subscription. This allows customers to store an unlimited number of login details on an unlimited number of devices.
