Google may be testing a feature that will prevent users from using the Google Messages app while screen sharing. This should ensure that private conversations and security codes received by text message can only be viewed by the user himself.

Android Police reports that some users will see a pop-up when opening Google Messages while sharing their screen. The notification states that the content has been hidden for security reasons. The pop-up reportedly remains until screen sharing is disabled. According to one user Access to the messages in the app will be blocked during screen sharing, but this will not apply to notifications from the Messages app received during screen sharing.

Some beta users state that they also see the notification when their screen is not being shared. The cause of this is not clear. In addition, it is not certain if and when Google will actually roll out this possible experimental feature to Google Messages.
