X lets users block replies from unverified accounts
Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, now lets users block replies from unverified users. Users can use a new feature to ensure that only users with an X Premium subscription can respond to their messages.
X users can now use the setting when posting a tweet, reports the platform. According to X owner Elon Musk The new institution should help combat spambots. Users can be verified by subscribing to X Premium and then verifying their phone number.
Replies from verified X users are already prioritized over those from users without a blue check mark. Musk made that change after linking platform verification on then-Twitter to paid subscriptions. Previously, such verifications were only intended for ‘notable’ accounts, such as those of celebrities, politicians and journalists. The platform also recently limited the amount of private messages unverified users can send and also made TweetDeck a paid feature earlier this year.
