Blizzard will release Diablo IV on Steam on October 17
Blizzard Entertainment is bringing Diablo IV to Steam on October 17. Previously, the PC version of the game was only playable via the Battle.net launcher. This Steam version also features crossplay with Battle.net and console players.
The game was released on June 6, 2023 for consoles and PC, but on the latter platform the game is so far only playable via Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher. Now let the developer in his Developer Update livestream know that Diablo IV will also come to Steam at the same time as the release of the second season of the game and will receive support for, among other things, Steam achievements and the friends list of Valve’s gaming platform.
The second season, Season of Blood, includes a new vampire-themed questline. In addition, there are five new endgame bosses and some much-requested improvements have been made. For example, it is possible to skip the campaign for new characters, with the exception of the prologue. According to the developer, the new dungeons are also designed in such a way that players have to backtrack less often.
Blizzard announced in July that it will now release games via Steam. Since then, only Overwatch 2 has been released on Steam. It is not yet known which other games will be coming to Steam in addition to Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV.
