X no longer shows headings on posted links in web version and iOS app
X will no longer show headlines on links to websites. From now on, only the main image of the site or the shared article will be shown. Only when clicked does it become clear which page the user ends up on.
The change is already visible in the iOS app and the desktop version of discovered The Verge. The heads are still available via the Android app for the time being. After the change, the name of the linked site is still visible at the bottom left of the image, but the precise headline is no longer automatically shown in the post. However, users can still put this in the post itself. The previous CEO of the former Twitter, Elon Musk, announced in August wanted to implement this change, because it said it would improve the ‘aesthetics’ of the platform.
