Pegasus is already included as a search function in various Apple apps, but should come to the App Store. reports Bloomberg author Mark Gurman in his newsletter. It is unknown in what ways Pegasus is better than previous Apple search functions. Gurman reports no more details than the better results.
In addition, Apple is looking at adding generative AI to the search functions within iOS and macOS. It is unclear exactly what that would look like. The search function is managed by John Giannandrea, who previously worked at Google and who has been given a large team to develop Pegasus in recent years. Last week it emerged that Microsoft and Apple had discussed Apple possibly acquiring Bing.
