Panasonic G9II gets 25.2 megapixel sensor and phase detection autofocus – update
The official product page of the yet unannounced Panasonic Lumix G9II has reportedly been temporarily online. This would show that the camera will have a 25.2-megapixel sensor in the microfour-thirds format and phase detection autofocus.
The Panasonic Lumix G9II becomes according to Asobinet the brand’s first micro four-thirds camera with phase detection autofocus. Earlier this year, the company released its first camera with the relevant autofocus function, namely the S5II full-frame camera. Until now, the Japanese tech company still used its depth-from-defocus autofocus technology.
The product page temporarily published online also shows that the camera can record images in 60fps with AFC and 75fps with AFS. The touch-sensitive screen must be 3″ in size. There is talk of dust and splash resistance, although no exact ratings are known. Nothing is known about the price and availability as yet.
Update, September 13: Panasonic has the Lumix G9II officially announced. The camera will be released in November for a suggested retail price of 1899 euros.
